Whilst many people associate winter as the season they put on weight, it's actually very easy to eat heart-warming food without the heart groaning.
Seasonal produce in winter is abundant with vegetables great for roasting and braising, not to mention soup, whilst the list of seasonal fruit in winter is shorter than other months there are still great apples (gala especially at the moment), oranges (navels especially at the moment) and fruits for poaching such as quince and rhubarb.
We're running headfirst this week into some blustery winter weather with rain later today and Tuesday, gust winds Thursday and Friday and crisp clear days for the weekend - time to bunker down with some heart-warming home favourites!
